Rambler Walking Holidays - Hiking in Andorra

Nothing quite matches the feeling of wellbeing and adventure you get exploring on foot, and the health benefits of walking are manifold – both physically and emotionally. May has been named National Walking Month, with the aim of encouraging everyone – whatever their age or fitness levels – to get involved in walking. Why not reap all the rewards by taking your next step a little further afield on one of Ramblers Walking Holidays.

The original walking experts, Ramblers Walking Holidays (01707 331 133, have been making the grade for over 70 years with a fantastic selection of UK and worldwide small group guided walking holidays to suit all levels of fitness and ability. Graded from Leisurely (1, 2, 3) and Moderate (4, 5, 6) through to Challenging (7, 8, 9) to help clients choose the right holiday to suit their preferred walking pace, ability and/or fitness, many holidays also feature two leaders and two different grades of walking meaning that clients with differing walking abilities can more easily enjoy a walking holiday together.

With plenty of holidays to choose from, here are a few options to help to get you on your way.

A Knight’s Island (Leisurely 3)

Treading in the footsteps of ancient civilisations, this one-week holiday explores the culture rich Dodecanese island of Rhodes. Staying in the UNESCO World Heritage medieval old city of Rhodes Town with it maze of alleyways, magnificent archways, monuments, shady squares and museums, superb walking is topped off with visits to the Lindos acropolis, azure Harbour of St Paul, Knights of St John’s Palace of the Grand Master and plenty of tasty Greek food.

With 3 -5 hours of walking each day and plenty of time to soak up the unique flora and fauna, highlights include some of the region’s best national parks and reserves, the famous botanical Kirstenbosch Gardens, Prince Albert’s ‘Cape Dutch’ architecture, the Cape of Good Hope and spectacular journeys across mountain passes.
