The original walking experts, Ramblers Walking Holidays (01707 331 133, www.ramblersholidays.co.uk) who have been offering small group guided walking holidays since 1946, have launched a new season of dedicated walking holidays for Autumn 2017/Spring 2018 – The World’s More Beautiful on Foot’.
Reinforcing Ramblers Walking Holidays reputation in delivering outstanding holidays for over 70 years, the new portfolio offers over 80 inspirational itineraries to destinations around the UK, Europe and worldwide. Focusing on winter and longhaul escapes, it includes new cross country skiing holidays in Norway and in Switzerland, Christmas and New Year in ‘Loxton & the Mendips’ and the Cotswolds and two new great value winter sun holidays in South Africa.
With plenty of more warming options to balance the cold, other highlights are a dual destination walking holiday in Montenegro and Croatia exploring the Adriatic coast and a trail through the Valencian countryside.
The new collection also offers more regional airport departures with 32 of the 49 European short-haul holidays having the option to fly from an airport outside London. In addition, customers can also book add-on flights or a ‘Land Only’ holiday if they choose to make their own travel arrangements.
Kathy Cook, Joint Managing Director commented: “Nothing quite matches the feeling of wellbeing and adventure you get when you walk – breathing in landscape, scenery and sights as well as fresh air. Since 1946, we’ve been travelling the globe in search of the most beautiful and unique destinations. For this season, we have included over 80 of the best walking holidays, to suit all levels of fitness, ability and experience, including all of our most popular walking itineraries along with exciting new holidays in the wild coasts of South Africa and along the coastline of Montenegro and Croatia plus the opportunity of cross country skiing in the powdery valleys of Norway and Switzerland. With nearly all of our 2018 holidays still at 2017 prices or lower, they also offer outstanding value for money.”
To help clients choose the right holiday to suit their preferred walking pace, ability and/or fitness, there is a continuum of walking grades which range from ‘Leisurely’ to ‘Moderate’and ‘Challenging’. Many holidays feature two leaders and two different grades of walking meaning that clients travelling together with differing walking abilities and preferences have the perfect solution. Styles of holidays are also indicated using a simple icon system, including such categories as ‘Pioneer’ for the more adventurous traveller, to ‘Flora and Walking’ holidays; ‘Birdwatching and Walking’ and ‘Lifestyle, Culture and Natural History’.
Printed for the first time as a ‘back to back’ edition with sister company Chapters Experience Holiday, the new brochure offers an extensive choice of holidays for those who are keen to book walking holidays as well as a range of experience based adventures.
