Ramblers Walking Holidays, the original experts in guided walking holidays, are looking forward to seeing their ambassador, Julia Bradbury back on TV on Friday 6th January in her new six-part ITV series ‘BRITAIN’S BEST WALKS with Julia Bradbury’.
In the new series she will be exploring Britain’s top walks and chooses her favourites across a range of six diverse landscapes from coastal and countryside to islands, rivers, lakes and fells.
The series kicks off with one of the UK’s top coastal walks as she takes in the famous landmarks on the Jurassic Coast of Dorset, including the iconic Old Harry Rocks chalk stacks on Studland. Julia’s trail will take her to some of the best views of the Needles and the Isle of Wight, along the ancient Dorset coastline and viewers will see her exploring inland over the Purbeck Countryside with its internationally important heathlands
For those wishing to follow in her footsteps Load Off Your Back (01707 386726, www.loadoffyourback.co.uk), part of RWH Travel (home to Ramblers Walking Holidays), has a choice of independent self-guided walking holidays including the Jurassic Coast Path.
Offering the flexibility to do all or just parts of the route, which follows the South West Coast Path from the charming port of Lyme Regis to the stunning sands of Studland Heath and the bustling port of Poole, Load Off Your Back literally lightens the load by booking the accommodation along the trail and transferring luggage from one overnight stop to the next. Enabling walkers to enjoy the freedom of the country's most scenic landscapes close up, at their own pace, away from the crowds, and without the burden of baggage.
A typical 4-day holiday along the path from Weymouth to Poole takes in walks to Lulworth Cove, Kimmeridge and Swanage over a route nearly 40 miles and costs from £415 per person. Cost includes accommodation each night, based on two people sharing a room on a bed and breakfast basis, a meticulously planned route with maps and guidebooks and transport of luggage from hotel to hotel.
Alternatively join Julia this summer on a Ramblers Walking Holiday (01707 331133, www.ramblersholidays.co.uk) for the four-night ‘White Cliffs and South Downs with Julia Bradbury’ holiday from £799 per person.
A highlight of this holiday is the final day, where Julia Bradbury joins the group for a walk from Beachy Head to the Seven Sisters Country Park across some of the most iconic white cliff coastal scenery in England. The evening will be spent in Julia’s company at a private dinner, where guests will be able to enjoy a presentation from her about her travel experiences behind as well as in front of the camera, and spend time talking to her on a one to one basis.
Departing on 4th June the small group holiday is based at in the five-star The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne from where the group will explore the rolling hill country landscapes of the Weald and South Downs. The journey includes walking in the UK’s newest National Park and six miles of spectacular coastline that has been designated Heritage Coast.
