In July 2017, the Lake District became one of the latest places to become a UNESCO designated World Heritage Site, joining the likes of the Taj Mahal, the Great Barrier Reef and the Grand Canyon in the hall of international acclaim. Totally well deserved in our view, and this wonderful area has been the centre of many Ramblers Walking Holidays for years so why not get out there and explore them.

We are very fortunate to be based at the stunning site of Lemsford Mill, near Welwyn Garden City, and we are proud to be custodians of a small part of wild Hertfordshire. Peter Oakenfull is part of the team that maintains the Mill grounds and its wildlife. In the first of a series of seasonal posts, he tells us what the site and his work mean to him.

Enthusiastic walker Gerry Carson has just returned from one of our new holiday destinations, the Garfagnana Valley in central Italy. Gerry reports that he had a great time in this less-visited area, and his photos certainly showcase the beauty of this ideal mountain walking location.
