Of course the perfect weather added to our enjoyment of the surrounding scenery as we ambled through flowery meadows and dappled woodland, with mountains rising up on either side, and at the end of the valley frequent glimpses of a glistening white glacier.

Caroline and I needed a holiday – we needed to relax and get fit at the same time – sounds like a bit of an oxymoron but that is what Ramblers Worldwide Holidays do for you…. We were greeted at Zurich Airport by Ursula Dedek, a marvellous lady, who not only exudes enthusiasm but also actually does care about you and your wellbeing.

I had a wonderful time in Ladis. The weather was great; sunny and hot most days. The two best walks for me were the Anton Renk Hutte, taking the chair lift from Fendelsand walking a beautiful path to a lovely waterfall and then to a high mountain tarn where we all had lunch.

Austria’s Upper Inn Valley proved to be an idyllic setting for my very first Ramblers Worldwide Holidays walking holiday. Unsure of what a D+ holiday really meant, the week designed for “flower lovers” at a slower pace had immediate appeal.
